High School Musical

I don't know if any of you have seen any of the High School Musical movies. I saw the first two when they came on TV. They are highly cheesy and comical (in a laughing at not laughing with sense). The reason I wanted to see them was because they were filmed at my high school and I was curious. It was kind of fun to see them roaming the halls etc, but that was it. A few weeks ago on Saturday Night Live I saw a really funny sketch with Zac Efron (star of High School Musical) and thought it was too funny not to share. (Sorry about the short commercial that comes on first).

Weekend Activities

Over the weekend we went to the new Temple's openhouse. As usual, it's very pretty inside. I like the overall layout a lot. Emma loved it, and seemed excited to see the baptisimal font. The chandelier's were awesome and I loved their shape. If you get a chance, you should go.On Sunday we had my brother and soon to be sister-in-law over for some dinner. Mmmm, it was good. They were good sports and even played Pretty Pretty Princess with Emma. It was a fun evening and Emma enjoyed the company, even if she couldn't play the Wii with us. =)

Emma's Recital

Thursday night was Emma's dance recital. Oh happy parent moment. Seriously, I was almost tearing up while her class performed. I don't exactly know why, because I'd seen them rehearse several times including once in costume at their dress rehearsal the day before. They were all just so cute on stage, and did such an amazing job. No one got nervous being on stage and the bright lights didn't freak anyone out. I wish I could share with you the video we took but it's too big and blogger is rejecting it. I have some pictures though, so enjoy the cuteness.

Colorado Again

Last week Eric went to Chicago for work, so Emma and I went back to Colorado for a longer visit. It was nice to have more than just a day or two, even if it was cooler and kind of rainy. Emma also got to spend some time with her cousins. She had so much fun playing with them, and Brayden was SO cute saying Emma's name over and over. I was able to spend some fun time with Eric's family, including going to the Croc sale with Steph. Awesome. Eric flew into town on friday evening, and then on Saturday we went out to dinner with his twin brother and his wife followed by games at their house. Here are some of the highlights from the trip.
Visiting Great Grandma & Grandpa

Fun in Grandma's backyard

fishing in the pond

"sharing" the slide with Brayden

Making and Eating smores by the fire

"Fun" at the park

Most kids enjoy the slide. Mine was tired and cranky and wouldn't go down the slide. Knowing she would like it (as she usually does) once she tried it (and she eventually did like it), and being the mean mom I am, I made her go down, and by that I mean I put her on the slide and "gently encouraged" her to go. Thanks to Grandma we have this awesome shot of my grouchy, tired, and now traumatized Emma arriving at the bottom. Is it bad that I love this shot of her?

See? She did cheer up later. That is an actual smile on her face.

Reading books with Grandma

Eating ice cream with Tyler

The Zoo

Feeding the Lorikeets (and this one looked to be 100 years old)

Brayden really went all out on the drums!

Visiting the Dairy Farm
