Riding the Train

Yesterday we decided to ride the new Frontrunner train that is now running. Emma loves trains, so we thought it would be fun. Our plans were made before we knew it would be snowing (on May 1st! I thought I was going to throw up I'm so sick of snow), but we decided to go anyway. Emma loved it. She liked looking out the window and pointing everything out that we saw. She was so cute on her seat with her coat and hat on and tucked in under a blanket. It's a little overpriced, but otherwise it kind of reminds me of Austria. While I was there I would take a regional train several times a week for just a stop of two just in order to visit someone or get somewhere I needed to. Ahhh memories. Here is proof of how cute Emma was and how much fun she had (and of how cold it was).

Happy Birthday Mr. Potato Head

On this day in 1952 Mr. Potato Head was first introduced. Normally I wouldn't have thought much of this. Technically I still don't think that much of it. =) I never played with vegetable toys as a child. Maybe I was deprived, but I guess I'll never know. Eric played with them when he was little...at least I think he did. He had one when we were married. He has since bought a couple of the Star Wars ones...and they are very funny. I've thought about getting one for Emma a few times and never have, but then when I was just at Disneyland with her, in California Adventures, they have a Mr. Potato Head Bar. You take a body, and then fill up a box with as much stuff as you can fit. They have all sorts of Disney pieces and accessories. They were so cute that I decided to get one for Emma. Of course I went for all the Minnie Mouse and girly things. I got so much stuff!! Emma thinks it's funny, so I guess that's all that really matters.

American Idol Prediction

I was wondering how many of you watch American Idol. For those of you who do, what are your predictions for who will win? This season there have definately been more contestants I disliked than liked, but I think it will come down to the Davids. Either could win (and will both have great careers ahead of them I'm sure), but I think David Cook will win in the end. I think David Archiletta has more training and more raw talent, but David Cook has more of a package deal to offer fans. The great thing is, assuming I'm right and these are the final two, I like them both and don't really care which one wins, so either way I'm happy. What do you think? Who do you think will win and whom would you like to win? Maybe it's the same answer for both questions.

A Morning Person?

When Emma wakes up in the morning, she comes out of her room, closes the door, and comes into my room, where I am usually still in bed, and says "time to get up!" She climbs onto the bed and starts messing with you if you don't get up right then. She's always very happy and cheerful and ready to be awake. You wouldn't know this to look at her though. Courtesy of my sister, here are a couple recent pictures of Emma taken right after she woke up.
